View slideshowAs part of our fundraising efforts for Lancaster charity CancerCare, we want everyone to dress up in silver and raise cash at the same time.
Today, Friday, we are hoping businesses and schools will take part.
Perhaps you are paying £1 for the privilege of dressing up in silver?
Or being sponsored...or just getting your friends and colleagues to bring in their small change - all silver, of course.
Tomorrow, Saturday, The Guardian team will have a stall in Lancaster's St Nicholas Arcades from 12-3pm where you will have an opportunity to stop and chat with the advertising and promotions team and also the editor. O & W Entertainments will also be on hand to keep the crowds entertained.
However, we'll expect you to be flaunting a bit of silver at the same time - particularly 5ps, 10p, 20ps and 50ps. And in Boots, anybody putting silver coins in their bucket at the No7 counter will get a raffle ticket and be entered into a free prize draw to win a range of prizes including a makeover and tubes of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.
Car dealership David Hayton is also filling a silver car with balloons outside Boots, today, Friday, and anyone who guesses the correct number of balloons will win a prize courtesy of the chemists.
There's still time.
If you're taking part in our silver day, email photographs of yourselves to
photos@lmnews.co.uk. Businesses already pledging to take part include....
- Boots in Lancaster
- Superdrug
- Black Box
- Arndale Centre in Morecambe
- Potts' Pies
- Co-op travel and Evans in St Nicholas Arcades
