A popular women’s clothes shop trading in Lancaster since 1955 has undergone a makeover.

After a short closure spanning the May Day bank holiday weekend, Renes has reopened after being refurbished.

The Renes team, friends and local contractors worked around the clock on the in-store makeover.

Renes brought fashion to the Lancaster high street in 1955.

The business was established by Irene and Pamela Newby and has passed through family generations to the present day.

Cousins, Tiffany Moore and Amanda Parkinson have co-owned Renes for over 10 years.

Amanda is now ready to take some time to enjoy semi-retirement with Tiffany taking the helm.

Over 67% of businesses in Lancaster are independently owned and Tiffany is keen to keep Renes on the High Street, firmly embedded within the local independent business

community.

Tiffany is committed to taking Renes forward in ever changing and challenging times, honouring the memory of her late mother Pam and late grandmother Irene.

The next time shoppers visit Renes they may notice some subtle changes in-store.

The retail space is slightly smaller, embracing efficiency and sustainability.

Shoppers will continue to find all their favourite brands and new collections too.

Owner Tiffany Moore said: “At Renes, customer service is at the forefront of everything. We embrace the personal touch and pride ourselves on our personal shopping experience, a service that is ever diminishing across the retail sector.

"We aim for customers to walk out of Renes having had a wonderful shopping experience and feeling like a million dollars!

"We take immense pride in fulfilling our customer’s wants and needs in an industry that is ever becoming a more challenging sector to be a part of.

“Many of our customers have been shopping with us for over 30 years.

"This kind of loyalty is a rare find and we’re not only truly grateful, but so proud to deliver an experience where people can’t wait to come back time and time again!

"We’ve been around since 1955, next year sees our 70th year in business and long may that continue.”
